Nikon announces winners of I AM NIKON Photo Awards 2012
Three talented photographers took home the grand prize of a V1 Double Zoom Kit Set (10-30mm, 30-110mm), a Speed Light and RM2000 cash each for earning the top prize in Nikon’s I AM NIKON Annual Photo Awards 2012. Using enthusiast level DSLRs, Abdillah Bin Ahmad, Ahmad Radhafizal Bin Che Kassim and Mohd Fauzi Bin Ibrahim managed to beat the competition by turning common and ordinary scenes into awardwinning creations by employing various photography techniques. The I AM Nikon Annual Photo Award 2012 was organized by Nikon Club Malaysia and garnered an impressive 73,000 photo entries, making it the largest contest to be held to-date. Running from 1 January to 30 September 2012, this contest challenged photographers to acknowledge each other and be stimulated by diverse points of view and thrive through competition. “What we look for are ideas, presentation of subject matter and what the image can convey. It needs to ‘speak’ to us in terms of the way the image is composed and the arrangement of elements within the frame. Ultimately, we deliberate how each photographer makes something interesting out of the mundane, common or ordinary subject which we are so used to looking at daily,” commented Alex Moh, head of the judging committee.
