Screen and oS
The touchscreen doesn’t boast the Nikon cam’s glare- reducing AMOLED tech, but it is crystal clear, bloody massive at 4.8 inches and simple to navigate with big, tappable icons. The OS is clearly designed for a phone rather than a camera, but Samsung’s own imaging app is great.
Web connectivity
Packs a slot for a microSIM as well as Wi-Fi so you can upload pics outside of Wi-Fi hotspots, although that means you need to shell out for a data plan. You’ll need to upload a lot of holiday snaps to make that worthwhile.
Picture quality
Images are bright, crisp and packed with colour, while the 21x optical zoom is a welcome addition to the 16-meg sensor. Does a decent job in low light and there are plenty of arty filters and manual controls to tinker with.

Love
Great picture quality. Big 4.8-inch display. The option of 3G connectivity
Hate
Kinda bulky. OS is clearly designed for phones not cameras.
i think It’s not perfect, but this melding of smartphone connectivity and user interface with high-end compact camera optics works well.
