Pentax K-3, Ricoh’s new high-end single-lens reflex camera, is the
first camera to feature a vibrating sensor. It is supposed to take over the
task that was previously being carried out by the low-pass filter, namely, the
task of blurring the images in order to avoid the so-called Moiré Effect. The
Moiré Effect affects fine-resolution images of the kind that are used in
textile patterns, making them look coarser than they really are. Compared to
its predecessor, the Pentax K-5, the K-3’s ISO count has been raised to ISO
51200, the display has expanded to 3.2-inches, and a WLAN module is available
that can send images directly to a smartphone or a tablet. This high-end model
costs about RM5,890
